Recipient of the Royal Philharmonic Society Isserlis Scholarship, Hattori Foundation Award and a Young Artist of the Worshipful Company of Musicians, British violinist Rosa Hartley began her musical studies at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, and later continued in London, studying under György Pauk and Itzhak Rashkovsky, before completing a solo postgraduate in Vienna under Ulf Wallin.
Recent highlights include recitals at Wigmore Hall, St John’s Smith Square, and on BBC Radio 3 In Tune. Concerto appearances include performances in Britain, Europe and abroad in Asia.
She spent two years as first violinist of Echéa String Quartet with whom she won first prize in Royal Overseas League Competition. As an orchestral musician, she has also appeared as concertmaster of European Union Youth Orchestra, assistant concertmaster of Budapest Festival Orchestra and plays regularly with Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
Besides her busy schedule as a musician, Rosa can often be found in her kitchen perfecting her Italian cooking.
